MEET OUR TEAM

Trent Steele was born in Staunton, Virginia, but has been a lifelong resident of South Florida. He has been practicing law for over 30 years and specializes in residential and commercial real estate law, estate planning and probate law, and business law. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts and graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, with honors, in 1982.

In his role as lawyer, adviser, counselor, and advocate, Mr. Steele is committed to providing aggressive, competent, cost-effective, and caring representation for his clients. He has an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale Hubbell, the highest peer rating standard. This is given to attorneys who are ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards by their peers.

He is actively involved in the community and serves as an officer, board member, or member of the following business and professional organizations: the Palm Beach County Bar Association; the Martin County Bar Association; the Florida Bar (Member, Real Property and Probate and Trust Law Sections); American Land Title Association; Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches; Real Estate Counsel for the Palm Beaches; and is an underwriter for Attorneys Title Insurance. Mr. Steele is also a member of the following areas of the Florida Bar Association; Trial Lawyers Section, Elder Law Section, Appellate Practice Section, Solo & Smith Firm Section, as well as the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section.  

He has also served as an officer or board member of the following civic and charitable organizations: Dunbar Early Learning Center Board of Directors https://www.dunbarearlylearningcenter.org/, 2006-present; Town of Jupiter Island Local Planning Agency Member, 2012-present; Town of Jupiter Island Representative, Martin County Citizen’s Round Table, 2007-present; Treasurer, VSA Arts of Florida https://www.kennedy-center.org/education/vsa/, 1992-2003; President, CAP of Palm Beach County, 1986-2000; Board Member, Florida Stage, 1994-2000; Member, Town of Palm Beach Code Enforcement Board, 1994-1996.

From 2004-2013, Trent Steele was the President of the Board of FoundCare (Foundation for Comprehensive Community Care, Inc.) which is dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the medically underserved and uninsured residents of Palm Beach County. Under Steele’s leadership, FoundCare established the first of its kind health care facility in West Palm Beach providing adult and pediatric care, a pharmacy, dental center, and wellness center all under one roof. https://foundcare.org/

Mr. Steele’s commitment to the community has been recognized by the following organizations: Cultural and Civic Activities Committee Award, 1991; Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, W. Peter Burns Memorial Award, 1993; Community Service Award, 2001; CAP of Palm Beach County, Inc., Lifetime Achievement Award, 2006; American Institute for Public Service, Jefferson Award-Palm Beach/Martin County, 2007; Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce, Pelican Award, 2015;  and FoundCare, Lifetime Achievement Award, 2017.

Debbie has worked for Steele Law for over 10 years and has been part of the Hobe Sound community for over 20 years.  She attended FAU for paralegal studies and obtained her paralegal certification through the National Association of Legal Assistants.

Debbie has had extensive legal experience and has worked within most counties in the State of Florida with a primary focus in estate planning, guardianships, probate and trust administration and litigation.

Heather Castellanos has been with the firm since 2010 as a real estate and litigation paralegal. Heather’s experience includes foreclosures, loan modifications, settlement negotiations, real estate closings and general litigation.  Prior to joining Steele Law in 2010, Heather worked in the mortgage industry for eight years.
